Have you ever thought about starting an online business that would enable you to make money (and possibly even a fortune) from your laptop from anywhere in the world that had a Wi-Fi connection? Now, what if you could do it simply by teaching others about a topic you love? Sounds pretty damn awesome, doesn’t it? Well, guess what, it is entirely possible. Me and many, many others are building personal brands on the internet today. I’m here to teach you how to do it too.
It is as simple as this: Whatever you have an interest in, there are thousands (and maybe even millions or even tens or hundreds of millions) of others in this big ol’ world of ours who have that same interest but don’t know what you know and want and need you to teach them in your own words and style.
Some people may say “Meh, the market is saturated.” Bullshit! The only way this would matter is if you were plagiarizing and you better not even be considering stealing someone else’s work. Thieves suck. Go create your own content in your own way. I guarantee you there are people out there who will totally dig it and be super excited every single time you create more.
Maybe you are into making custom soaps under your own cool brand? Or, maybe you are into raising chickens? Maybe you love to bake pies, cakes, cookies, bread, rolls and every other delicious baked good you can imagine. Any one of these topics could be an excellent topic for you to build your new business around. Maybe you are into all three of the aforementioned topics. Cool! Your new business could totally revolve around country living.
Maybe your name is Mike and you have learned a lot of cool things in the last 50 or 60 years. Maybe a domain like Mikeisms dot com or OldDudeKnowledge dot com is something cool to help others learn what you know.
I saw a Vlogger last night who just goes around reviewing pizza joints. He is giving Guy Fieri a run for his money. Ha ha, probably not but it’s still a pretty cool business.
Whatever you do, make sure you choose a topic/niche you absolutely love. Something you are still going to enjoy creating content around in 5, 10 and 20 years from now.
Take Robert Kiyosaki for instance. He has built a multi-million dollar empire around helping the low and middle-class learn how to generate passive income that creates wealth for them and their loved ones. He loves that topic and it shows through in his work. According to Captialism.com, Robert Kiyosaki has built a net worth of over $80 million dollars!
Health, wealth and relationships are three top-level niches that are evergreen. This means they were popular 50 years ago and they will be popular 50 years into the future as well. This also means all three of them can be extremely profitable.
There are tons of sub-niches and micro-niches within these three top-level niches. For instance, within health, you might choose to focus on recipes or building muscle or losing fat or doing a certain diet such as Keto or anything else you can possibly think of.
Thomas DeLauer is a name most people have never heard of and yet he has quietly amassed a small fortune of over $600,000 from using the power of the Internet to teach people how to benefit from the Keto diet. According to statsmash.com, DeLauer has amassed a net worth of almost $1 million dollars with his Keto Diet YouTube channel. Pretty damn cool, yeah?
Personally, I love striving to become more tomorrow than I was today and I love helping others do the same. Advance Dynamix made perfect sense for my business.
Building a memorable brand is of utmost importance. A catchy name is your first step. It needs to be something people can identify with and something that immediately gives people an idea of what your business is about. Something they can relate to. Something that is two or three words that are easy to spell so you can get a great domain for it.
For the above idea, maybe something like Loving Country Living dot com or Country Living With Love dot com. The possibilities are endless. There are many domain name suggestion tools available for free on the Interwebs. Always remember Google and YouTube are our friends. Anything you want to learn more about is just a few keystrokes away. Did you know Google now owns YouTube? Google might take over the world some day. LOL
Is there a specific topic in your realm you don’t know a lot about yet but would like to and it would also make a great topic for you to create content about? Perfect! You now have the opportunity to kill two proverbial birds with one proverbial stone. Do your research. Don’t be lazy and half-ass it here. This is important. Do a good amount of research from multiple high-quality sources. Then, put what you’ve just learned into your own words. Bam! You just learned something new AND you just created some high-quality content for your followers. Helping others and helping yourself in one fell swoop. That’s what I’m talking about! You know how I like win/win’s! Life’s always better when everyone comes out a winner.
It’s important to remember there is no time period of waiting involved when it comes to teaching something you have just learned, to someone else. If you know it, you know it. Go teach it! Someone else needs to know it too and a certain percentage of those people are going to be able to easily relate to your personality. Get busy and go give them what they want and need!
There are many excellent (and free) tools out there on the Interwebs to help you come up with awesome content ideas.
www.AnswerThePublic.com is one. I just typed in “Making Soap” and it instantly spit out 493 different potential content ideas. I’m fairly certain you can find an excellent topic to create great content about just one of these in a matter of minutes or possibly even seconds.
KeyWordTool.io is another awesome (and free) tool to give you great ideas. I just typed “Soap Making” into it and it spit out 288 ideas. Some are the same, some are different. Point is, there are tons of great content generation ideas for you here and they won’t cost you a penny unless you opt for their upgraded versions.
Have you ever noticed that when you begin typing a search term into the Google search bar, it begins giving you suggestions? Those suggestions are things people are already searching for. That’s a clue. There are many great content ideas within those. Why wouldn’t you want to write about a topic the ol’ Googlemeister is already telling that everyone is searching for? That’s kind of like shooting fish in a barrel, don’t cha think?
Our friends over at Google also have an absolutely awesome keyword tool. Google has tons of awesome tools for all kinds of things. That’s a topic for another one of my posts though. If you can’t wait for that post though, go here and check ’em out. Even if you don’t employ any of their other tools right now, at least give Google Docs a look. If you liked Microsoft Office way back when, you will love this. It’s all of that and much more. And, it’s FREE and cloud-based!
Content is king! The faster you can create high-quality content that truly helps folks, the faster your business is going to grow. There have been experiements done with the amount of content put out over a specific period of time. The boys over at Income School did one. The results from those studies has shown faster is better. Publishing a good, high-quality blog post every day for thirty days did much better down the road than the blogger who only published one or two good posts over the course of a week.
You’re in a race with yourself to get your first thirty posts or videos published. Until you get that done, you haven’t even begun. Once you have hit that publish button thirty times, you can slow down a bit. Not a lot, just a bit. Make those first thirty happen as fast you possibly can though.
Once again though, don’t get lazy and just start churning out crap. You aren’t doing anyone any favors if you do that. High-quality, actionable value-bomb content is what’s on the menu for this feast. There’s a ton of work involved but it is a very noble and rewarding use of your time to help others. And, it has the potential to change your life as you know it forever! Imagine trading in your boss and your alarm clock for six Saturdays and a Sunday to help others. Sound awesome? I sure think so.
An awesome logo is also extremely important when it comes to building your brand. Study the logos from large companies. You will notice most use only one or two colors and they are very simple. To get a better idea of what I’m talking about, take a look at Facebook, Pepsi, Nike, McDonald’s, WalMart, etc. Blue, red and yellow seem to be the most popular colors. Nothing scientific here though. That’s just my personal observation.
Type “blue logos” or “red logos” in your Google search bar and then hit the images tab. You will recognize most, if not all of them Here’s another interesting (and yet still not scientifically dissected) tidbit, most of the blue logos are extremely close in their respective hues. I have to think that didn’t happen just by sheer chance. I’m going to take a guess and say many companies have spent a ton of money to determine that particular shade of blue attracts more dollars than the other shades. Like I said though, this is just my hunch.
Come up with some rough idea concept drawings of what you have in your mind’s eye for your logo and then summon the assistance of a professional. When I do this, I use Microsoft Paint. It’s a free program that comes on all Windows computers and it enables me to create a great draft in a .jpg format.
From there, I pick someone on Fiverr to give me several different possibilities in a professional format based upon what I initially designed. Sometimes, I’m not happy with anything they come back with. Sometimes, I will give them another shot, and sometimes, I just find someone else. UpWork is quite a bit more expensive than Fiverr but the quality of work is oftentimes much higher quality as well. That being said, I’ve received a lot of high-quality work on the cheap from Fiverr too.
Don’t get carried away with the number of different colors in your logo. Start paying close attention to logos from big companies. Just Google the search term “logos.” You will see what I mean. No one uses three, four and more colors in their logo except for very small, local mom and pop shops.
When you are creating content, visuals play a big roll. It’s important to use some real people pictures of yourself so people can get to know you. One of my favorite pictures to use for my stuff is the one of me with the off-kilter, reverse Mohawk shaved in my head as I’m bent down, giving a double thumbs-up next to a Hummer that had been seized by law enforcement professionals from a local drug dealer.
It’s a fun picture. It’s a picture that makes people say, “Oh my God! What happened to his hair!?!” at first glance. And, it’s a picture that demonstrates an extremely important activity I participate in every year that is very near and dear to my heart. You can learn more about that when you read my exclusive (and free) eBook. You can get it here.
Additionally, I use stock photos in all of my blog posts and Facebook posts that resonate with the message I have just created and shared with my followers. I get these photos for free from Pexels.com. There are many free stock photo websites out there on the Interwebs. Google is your friend. There are also a lot of places you can purchase great stock photos as well.
Once you have everything up and running, you need to monetize it. There are many ways to do this.
Obviously, I chose blogging on my website here to reach you and all the other awesome people who want to learn more about Advance Dynamix.
That being said, I have every intention of eventually starting a YouTube channel too at some point in the future.
I will also start a Podcast in the future as well. But, as it stands now, I don’t have a lot of hours left in my day because of my full-time job that also requires me to work overtime. And, I need to make sure I am still reserving ample time to spend with my loved ones as well. Once I have been able to retire, I will have much more time available to do all of the cool things I want to do. Both in my business and in my personal life. The cool thing is, I will have built the income needed to do a bunch of really cool stuff with my loved ones because of beginning to build my business now.
If you decide you want become a Vlogger and create videos on YouTube, you can create links below your videos. Some people would much rather talk and teach in front of your computer rather than type into a blog post.
Maybe neither sounds too appealing. Just jump in and start doing the one that sounds the most appealing to you. Trust me when I tell you it will get much easier and much better as you create more and more. And, content creation becomes easier and faster as you gain more experience also. Many a self-made-millionaire have been created in recent years via blogging, vlogging and podcasting.
How Do I Monetize?
Some Bloggers choose to create a page specific for affiliate links like I have done with Advance Dynamix. Some choose to also place them in the sidebar and footer of their blog as well. Some embed links with posts that contain relevant content also.
30 years ago, if you would have said a person could become a self-made millionaire just by writing about something they were really interested in and posting it to this new-fangled thing called the Internet, everyone would have told you were crazy. But, you know what? It’s totally true. It is a truly amazing time to be alive!
Some Bloggers add advertising to their blog as well. I personally don’t care for that because I feel it muddy’s up the content and creates a less desirable experience for you, the reader.
There are a ton of places to become an affiliate partner with both digital and physical products that directly correlate with the specific niche you have chosen. There should be a mixture of product pricing that includes free, low-priced, moderately-priced and one or two extremely high-quality/high-profit products. Those last one or two products are the ones that have the potential to change your life forever. Without them, your business will never pass just being mediocre. This is a cornerstone point to this entire business model concept. DO NOT leave this part out!
There are tons of companies who have affiliate programs. Do you know a product you really like and would like to help others find as well? Google it with the word affiliate. Put a plus sign in the middle like this: awesome_product+affiliate. If they offer an affiliate program, that is how you can easily find it. I began learning from the boys at Income School before I became an affiliate for them. I loved their product so much, I wanted to tell you and others about it.
Find other blogs and vlogs in the area of your particular interest. Do a little research and find out which programs are very common amongst all of them. As they say in the law enforcement world, that will be a clue. Of course, do your own research to ensure it is a high-quality program before recommending it to someone else but this will give you a good start.
Additionally, there are many places to find great products. ClickBank, CJ Affiliate (formerly Commission Junction), Rakuten/LinkShare and ShareASale immediately come to mind. There are tons of others as well. There are thousands upon thousands of digital product companies available through these sites. All of which enable you promote their product(s) via your individual affiliate links.
Just find the products that relate to your niche, do a Google search with the company and/or product name and the word “reviews” to make sure it’s a product people love, try the product yourself and then begin promoting it to the people who are coming to your site. It’s really that simple.
It doesn’t matter what niche you have chosen. There are so many products available, there is an excellent chance you are going to find exactly what you are looking for.
If you can’t find affiliate products, that could be a great indication you need to create your own!
The biggest secret to creating an awesome business that you and many others will love is just doing it. Just pretend you are one of the Duke boys. Jump in that bright orange 1969 Dodge Charger through the window with both feet, mash that long, skinny pedal on the right clear down to the floor, let out a big ‘ol rippin’ yee-haw! and don’t let up.
So many people never accomplish anything near what they are capable of because they let up off the gas too soon or even worse, never mash it down to begin with. Stay in it and drive that bitch like you stole it! You’ll be glad you did. Now, go out there and AVAMSH! The tools you need to make it all happen can be found right here at Advance Dynamix.
Okay, now you are ready to get your WordPress site up and running. You can learn exactly how to do that here.
By the way, if you are wondering about the back-story to my silly-looking hairstyle from this photo, you can learn how it came to be in the “About Me” section here. I also talk more about it in my exclusive eBook that you can get for free by clicking the link down below. I do this hair thing every year. Maybe you want to get in on that too. We have a ton of fun with it and lots of great things happen because of it.
