Do What You Love
What do you love? Are you doing it? No? Why not?
According to Gary Vaynerchuk, 85% of people are not happy doing what they do for a living. That is an astronomical number. And, it’s absolutely horrible!
Do you know Gary Vaynerchuk, aka: Gary Vee? He is the Honey Badger. And, you know what the Honey Badger does (or, doesn’t do as the case may be)? The Honey Badger don’t give a fuuuuuuck!
The first time you experience Gary Vee, it becomes inherently obvious he totally speaks from the heart. He may piss some off. He may hurt the feelings of some. He is definitely rough around the edges, to say the least.
But, you know what? Gary Vee speaks the truth and doesn’t pull any punches. If you are looking to hear what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear, he probably isn’t going to be your guy. Nevertheless, he has built several businesses that are worth tens of millions of dollars. If you haven’t built million dollar businesses but you want to, it could be beneficial for you to learn what he knows no matter how much he may piss you off.
Living The American Dream
Gary’s family brought him to the United States from Belarus when he was three years old. Today, he is an American businessman who is worth well over $160 million dollars! He did this via podcasts, blogs and vlogs. I don’t know about you but I would defnitely call that being a successful Internet Influencer. $160 million dollars! How freaking cool is that!? He is totally living the American dream! I absolutely love stories like that.
One of the greatest reasons I love America so much is the opportunities it provides for absolutely anyone who is willing to work hard and not give up. You, me and anyone else who is prepared to do what it takes. Even with all the ups and downs. We all have the same exact opportunity available to us. Many make excuses but while they are working hard on their excuse game, there is always someone out there with less who is proving how it can be done. Think about that for a minute.
Woody Allen is credited with saying, “80% of success is just showing up.” I agree. Stop making excuses why you can’t or it can’t or whatever. Get out there and make shit happen. And, don’t give up. The Age of the Internet has massively increased the popularity of instant gratification. Don’t get wrapped up in that. Is there a chance you can experience overnight success? Yeah, maybe. Probably not though. Damn sure don’t plan on it or look forward to it. It’s going to take some time. Give your success the time it wants and needs to come to fruition.
Gary Vee has done what you and I are working to do. Gary has used the power of the Internet to build an absolutely huge, multi-million dollar business. He started out doing wine reviews on YouTube. He stuck to his guns and now look where he is at. #notaquitter
Do What You Love
Maybe you aren’t doing what you love for a living right now. That’s okay! The beautiful thing about building your affiliate marketing business is it can be started as a side-gig. The only downside to this is that it makes it really easy to not take it as seriously as you should and to give up before it gets off the ground. If you have read anything else I have written, you know the major problem with affiliate marketing failures is that people give up way too quickly. If you go into it with the mindset that you are going to spend somewhere between two and five years before you see any real progress, you have a much better chance of building a successful business.
In past years, I have quit multiple entrepreneurial endeavors way before I should have. It wasn’t until recently that I learned the err of my ways.
While learning about something entirely different, I stumbled across a very successful affiliate marketing expert who had come from a very similar background as me. That piqued my interest. As I studied the content he was producing, it became obvious he was not saying what he thought would make people buy the products and services associated with his affiliate links. He was simply teaching everything there was about getting an affiliate marketing business off the ground. Both, the good and the bad. He understood that honesty and sincerity would be greatly appreciated by people like me and the rest would take care of itself. He became a mentor of mine.
What Do You Love?
The possible topics for creating a business are practically unlimited. Right now, list seven things you totally love. I’ll do it with you. Mine are as follows:
|1.||Becoming better today than I was yesterday|
|3.||All Things Rock and Roll|
|4.||Hot Rods, 4×4’s and Supercars|
Those are seven topics I have a strong interest in. Any one of which I could write many, many great blog posts on. Yes, some of them overlap somewhat. That’s okay.
What are your seven? Can’t think of seven? That’s okay too. What do you love? There are others who would love to learn what you know and what you learn in the future about that topic you love because it is the topic they love too!
What Success Looks Like
1. Becoming better today than I was yesterday – Nathan Lucas was enlisted in the United States Air Force for over ten years. That means he was halfway to retirement. He only had ten more years to go before he hit the magical 20 year retirement date the United States Military offers to our Nation’s Heroes.
Nathan absolutely loved his job in the Air Force. He was looking for a way to supplement his income during the nights, weekends and holidays that enveloped his time off from his job. Nathan began to get involved with different Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) companies but he didn’t find what he was looking for with any of them. While he was trying to make his MLM businesses come together, he began marketing them by creating YouTube videos. That evolved into him creating an Affiliate Marketing business and marketing it through those same type of YouTube videos.
It didn’t happen overnight but that didn’t stop him. He kept at it. Today, he is totally self-employed and is a self-made millionaire. His affiliate marketing business enabled him to essentially retire early. Although he wasn’t close enough to retirement to retire in the normal sense of the word. However, he was able to make himself financially stable enough to step away from the guaranteed paycheck.
2. Helping Others – Jim and Ricky over at Income School both came from jobs many only dream of. Jim was an attorney and Ricky was an engineer, enjoying a six-figure income. Jim started his first blog in an effort to pay off his astronomical student loans. His good friend Ricky followed suit and they joined forces. Today, their college-educated jobs are a thing of their past. Today, they are self-made millionaires. They developed a program known as Project 24. Today, they are helping others (including me!) by teaching them exactly how they have repeatedly created successful blogs.
Michael Thatcher over at Charity Navigator has built an awesome business by rating non-profit’s. His site has created a win/win for everyone involved (unless they are a scammer) and you know how I like win/win’s (and detest scammers)!
3. All Things Rock and Roll – This is actually probably a really good opportunity for someone. I did a Google search for “Rock and Roll blog” and several that show up on page 1 of the SERP’s have extremely sporadic posts that are way too small in terms of content and haven’t had a post published in a long time.
My very first writing experience was writing The Rocker’s Review for my highschool newspaper. I loved writing that column and everyone in the school would high-five me in the hallway when I covered a band they really liked. It was a very cool experience. My mom cut out and framed my first article. It hung on the wall in her home for over 30 years. She gave it to me for Christmas this past year. Now that I have chosen a writing career here with Advance Dynamix, that article means all that much more to me. It was my start. And, I didn’t even know it at the time.
As we were coming home from our latest cruise last week, we were sitting in LAX, waiting for our flight, I saw Eddie Trunk of Trunk Nation walking to his flight. He was about 300 feet away from me. I yelled “Eddie Trunk!” across the airport. He spun around and I threw him the horns.🤘 He instantly recognized that I was a big fan of his, smiled and threw the horns back.🤘 Probably not a big deal to most but I have been following Eddie’s work since the beginning. I’ve always been a huge fan of hard rock and heavy metal and he has probably forgotten more than I know. It was a cool experience for he and I both.
There is definitely a ton of room in this niche for someone who is willing to put forth the time and effort required to push out a 1,700-3,000 word, quality blog post on a daily basis.
4. Hot Rods, 4×4’s and Supercars – Actually, you could niche down to any one of the three here. Just hot rods. Just 4×4’s. Just Supercars. That’s what Supercar Blondie did. Or, you could open it up with something like Bad Ass Rides dot com or something along those lines.
Supercar Blondie has over 3 million subscribers on YouTube. According to her website, she reaches over 400 million viewers per month. Whoa! I guarantee you she is raking in the bucks with her business. She puts out a ton of high quality content on a lot of really cool super cars. She has totally figured it out.
5. Cruise Ships – There are a ton of high quality blogs and vlogs in this arena. That being said, the world has over 8 billion people in it. There is always room for a newcomer as long as they bring high quality and a high level of content.
Alexa Paige went on her first cruise in May of 2019. That vlog post has been watched almost 150,000 times and still gets more views every single day. Jetting Julia went on her first one last year too. Her YouTube video has over 300,000 views since then. And, those are just a couple of newcomers. Their views don’t even come close to touching the 800 pound gorillas of this niche. They did it. Why can’t you?
6. Entrepreneurship – As you might expect, there are an absolute ton of different personal brands in this arena. As you know, one of my favorites is Jim and Ricky over at Income School. They aren’t anywhere close to the biggest but they have built a multi-million dollar business around teaching others how to build their own multi-million dollar business. That’s pretty damn cool in my humble opinion!
Tai Lopez, Gary Vaynerchuk, Tom Ziglar and Grant Cardone have built absolutely massive businesses with a combined net worth of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Dmitry and Oleg over at SEMrush built a tool to help other entrepreneurs build their blog and they have their own blog too. According to CrunchBase, they had a valuation of somewhere between $100 million and $500 million dollars back in 2018. Damn.
7. Lake Life – This is another niche that is ripe with opportunity. I did a Google search for “lake life blog” and found basically the same thing I found earlier in the rock & roll niche. The top of the SERP’s go to blogs that have small, out-dated posts, many of which aren’t even related to the topic. One of them had several posts about the upcoming Superbowl. I’m not sure how that relates to lake life but it was at the top of the SERP’s. This niche is wide-open right now.
This post was brought to you courtesy of the management of the most popular social media outlet today. You probably have an account with them. They shut down my ads manager account. I appealed and lost. I can no longer advertise on on their particular medium. Their email states, “Ads like these lead to a poor user experience as they highlight opportunities that are unclear, misleading and aren’t true for all users. They often contain claims around earning money without any specifics about what someone would need to do and how much would be earned.”
Clearly, the “professionals” at this unnamed social media outlet hadn’t taken the time to read a single thing I have written. They just assumed it was the same rubbish all the scammer assholes were trying to push and fluffed it off. That couldn’t be any further from the truth.
As you know, I am constantly beating the drum of “you must put forth a ton of work and high quality content if you want to be successful.” Many bloggers/vloggers gloss over that because they know it will have a significant impact on their income. Because of those assholes who are trying to scam people and wring every single penny out of people they can, This unnamed social media outlet just glossed over my site with the same knee-jerk reaction they give everyone. Thank’s to Pavlov’s Theory, Advance Dynamix fell victim to the powers of their laziness.
I would much rather miss out on some income and know my readers, who are doers, are going into their endeavor with their eyes wide open rather than try to scam someone out of their money. If only they would have spent a bit of time on my site rather than just taking the easy way out, they would have known Advance Dynamix is different than most. Don’t be lazy. Don’t take the easy way out. They may be able to afford it but you and I need to be on our A game. Those who want and need the expertise we are providing expect it and deserve it.
I have outlined many success stories in this post where the Bloggers and Vloggers did just that. They built their businesses upon tons of high quality content.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. If you want to be successful, you must work your ass off. And, your perseverance must kick in repeatedly when you run into roadblocks such as a social media outlet shutting down your ad account. Their loss. I’m still building a successful business. They just won’t get any more of my money. #perseverance #tenacity #nevergiveup #justrockit #advancedynamix
