Mark Twain said it first, it’s been repeated thousands of times and we all know it is 100% true. If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life!
As many of you know, in addition to Advance Dynamix, I also still work a full-time job as well. I love the work I do. Because of this, it doesn’t seem like work. I wake up early in the morning, excited to tackle the day and help make a positive impact in the lives of others. Although I am doing the job of my dreams, I am also very close to retirement and am totally ready to enjoy it with friends and family.
On average, I work at least 50 hours per week at my job. Sometimes, I end up working much more than that. 50 hours per week is a ton of extra time I am going to be freed up to spend with my wife, kids, grandkids and mother once I have retired.
Preparation for retirement is what initially lead me to becoming a Digital Creator with my inception of Advance Dynamix.
I also absolutely love helping others learn how to find something they love to do and what exactly they need to create a successful business with it through Advance Dynamix. When I’m not working at the job I love, I am creating helpful content and running this blog I love. I have created a very enjoyable life and I know you can too. I know this because I too have had jobs in the past I wasn’t near as excited about.
I’ve held jobs such as dishwasher and busboy at local restaurants. I’ve worked as a Pipefitter’s Helper at a huge oil refinery where I was outside enduring the elements, no matter what type of weather Mother Nature had brought that day. I’ve worked at a beef processing plant where I was required to walk through every part of the plant, including the “kill floor.” None of these were jobs I was excited about doing to say the least. The beef processing plant job only lasted one shift. It was absolutely horrific.
Even after I retire from my job, I will continue to work hard to help as many people as I possibly can with Advance Dynamix. I’ve learned a lot over the years and I strive to learn more each and every day. I take that knowledge and experience and use it to create helpful and enjoyable content that will help you achieve your goals. And, I love sharing it with you guys.
Over the years, I have started many different business ventures. Some were more successful than others. Looking back, I now know that many of them would have been much more successful than what they were had I spent more time, energy and effort in building them.
Pay Close Attention
Even if you only skim the rest of the information and knowledge in this entire blog post or even the entire site, pay very close attention here. I can’t emphasize this enough.
My turning point came when I finally found a mentor who emphasized how much time, effort and actual work was involved in order to be successful. I guess it was my “a-ha moment.” I knew a lot of work was involved but I just didn’t have a good grasp of what a lot of work actually entailed. 30 pieces of good, solid content is just getting started. 50-200 pieces of good, solid content is where you will begin to see some progress. Before that, don’t expect to see anything but more work ahead of you. A piece of good solid content is a 2,000+ (at minimum) word blog post or a 20+ minute YouTube video of high-quality content that people find helpful and enjoyable. That coupled with a conscious effort to do whatever was necessary to make it happen is what lead me to where I am today. In the past, I always moved on to something else before I had put that much effort in.
You too can be successful if you put these factors into play. Most people suffer from “shiny keys syndrome” and get side-tracked with mind-numbing programs on their television rather than focusing on the things that will actually help them create the health, wealth and happiness they dream of.
Negative people have failures – Positive people have learning experiences
Of course, I would have liked to have figured this out long ago but I’m kind of glad it happened that way because I now experience I would not have otherwise had. What I’m doing today is what I absolutely, truly love. Today, my job is to help you learn to do what you love and create an income while doing it. No matter whether you are wanting to just supplement your current income a bit with a hobby you enjoy or you are wanting to totally replace your jerk of a boss and create a much greater income in doing so, you can and you should. And, you can totally learn how to do it right here, right now. I’m the lucky guy who gets to help you figure it all out so you can start putting it together and begin doing what YOU love. It just doesn’t get any better than that!
Over the years, I have read many, many books, watched many YouTube videos and listened to many podcasts that cover the 4M topics that make up the four pillars of Advance Dynamix. Those four topics are what I affectionately refer to as the four M’s. The four M’s consists of Mindset, Motivation, Marketing and Making Money. Advance Dynamix is the 4M company. Mastering the 4M’s will help you advance in all aspects of your life. Now, I have the opportunity to share that knowledge with you and add to the Dynamix of your Advancement.
Coach Lou Holtz and His 3 Winning Plays
Coach Lou Holtz lead Norte Dame to the top. In addition to being a fantastic coach, he is an awesome man too. He is a true leader. I had the pleasure of seeing him speak live in 1998 at the Success ‘98 Motivation Summit in Wichita, Kansas. This is also where I got to see Zig Ziglar speak as well.
One thing I’ve always liked about Coach Holtz is his viewpoint on worrying. He says “Stop worrying. Good things are going to happen and bad things are going to happen. Handle them appropriately. But, stop worrying about them before they happen. Worrying does nothing good for you and can be very detrimental to your success.” I couldn’t agree with this more. 90% of the things people worry about never come to fruition. What a lot of wasted, negative time!
On January 4, 2020, Coach Holtz did a guest appearance on Fox News. He spoke about his 3 plays for winning in 2020.
Coach Holtz Play #1 – Do What’s Right
Everyone knows right from wrong. Unfortunately, not everyone leads their life by doing what’s right. Doing what’s right builds trust. If the people around you know they can trust you not to lie, cheat and steal, you and they will both be able to accomplish more.
One of my coworkers constantly lies about things for no apparent reason. It seems as if he just enjoys lying. It’s very odd. Everyone knows there is a good chance he is lying if his lips are moving. Consequently, everyone also knows they can’t trust him. And yes, he’s been called out on his lies many times. If anything, that only fuels the fire. Doing the right thing is really a simple concept but not everyone gets it.
Coach Holtz Play #2 – Always Do Your Best
Mom used to always say, “If you are going to take the time and effort to do something, give it your all.” I channeled my inner Kansas country boy and coined that phrase a little differently. My version is, “Don’t half-ass your task.”
The United States Army built an entire marketing campaign around this very thought. According to Wikipedia, their slogan, “Be All You Can Be” was in place for over 20 years. There’s a good reason it enjoyed such a long life-span.
Coach Holtz Play #3 – Show People You Care
Show people you truly care. Do you know what the most important word in the world is? The name of the person you are speaking with. Using their name whenever possible is a little thing that means a lot. When I send an email, I always use the recipient’s name in the beginning and in the end.
Zig Ziglar said, “You can have everything you want in life if you just help enough others get what they want.” I agree with this 100%. When you embrace and employ this concept, others will automatically begin to see how much you care.
One of my best friends, Shayne, says when people first meet me, they think I am phony because of my level of sincerity. He has said this many times over the last 30+ years that we have been friends. Perhaps he is right. If he is, I guess it is their loss. I believe that is a good quality of my personality and I’m not going to try to change it.
What is a topic you absolutely love?
We all have different things that interest us. Everybody has at least one topic they are passionate about and know much more about than many others who want to learn more about that topic.
Another one of my best friends, BB, is passionate about anything that has to do with guns. BB loves to shoot, he loves to hunt and he loves to build guns. He lives near Dodge City, Kansas and because of growing up there, he has a very passionate interest in guns of the old west as well. BB could easily create a business with tons of excellent content around it on this one single topic.
Shayne has a passionate interest in anything that has to do with boats and the water. He owns several boats, he lives less than a minute from a large Reservoir and he loves to go on ocean cruises. He has dreams of going up and down the coast lines in a large, personally-owned yacht someday. He too, could easily start a business around this one topic.
Have you figured out what your niche is yet?
Choose the right niche
When you determine what your niche topic is going to be, it is extremely important that you do not niche down too far. If your interest is in poisonous dart frogs, it will probably be a good idea to niche up to all poisonous animals or all frogs. It may be too hard to come up with enough good content around a topic as small as “poisonous dart frogs.”
That being said, often times there are many additional posts we can write about that just haven’t come to mind for us yet. That’s why we need tools to help us get past that writer’s block.
Answer The Public is a fantastic tool that can help you do just that. Answer The Public is free. One good topic can find hundreds of sub-topics to create great content around on Answer The Public.
Another quick way to get excellent content ideas is to type one or two words in Google and then type one letter of the alphabet and see what suggestions that Google gives you. For instance, my friend Shayne could go to Google and type “yacht travel a” and then, “yacht travel b” and then, “yacht travel c” and get many ideas. You get the idea.
And, with each Google search, The Big G always gives you eight additional search term ideas at the bottom of the ten results for your search term on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) too.
Ubersuggest by Neil Patel used to be an awesome, free tool I used a lot. Unfortunately, it has become extremely glitchy lately. The captcha plugin he is using seems to really be blocking progress. Maybe Ubersuggest is really slow and I just don’t have the patience. Either way, I reached out to Neil about these problems with Ubersuggest not working but I still have yet to hear back from him on it. Hopefully, he can get it fixed quickly and we can go back to using it too. Post a comment below and let me know if Ubersuggest is working for you or not.
You won’t be successful without the proper mindset
It’s extremely important that you go into your new business with the right mindset. This is not some get-rich-quick scheme that is going to happen overnight. You have to produce a lot of really good, helpful content before the search engines will begin picking up your content and showing it to people who will eventually become part of your tribe.
Whether you choose to do a blog or a vlog, plan on spending at least 24 months to get any traction whatsoever. Hopefully, you will get lucky and it will happen faster for you but don’t expect it! Also, know that it could take three, four, or even possibly five or more years to get it off the ground. Obviously, it is extremely important for you to choose a topic you can continue to create content around without getting bored or tired of.
Blogs are hugely popular! Did you know Google even has their very own blog? I’m going to go out on a limb and say Google is pro-blogger. 🙂 To be fair and honest, Google is pro-blogger when and only when the content is relevant and of high quality. They aren’t going to tolerate crap being thrown against th wall. If you are going to help people, you better help them. Otherwise, you are just going to waste your time.
There are billions of searches on Google every single day. This is a good thing for you and your blog. You just have to give it some great content and some time in order to get in on that action.
Have you heard of BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers)? BERT is a neural network-based technique for natural language processing (NLP). Keyword research is being replaced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms over at Google. As Bob Dylan once said and as we see all the time, “The times, they are a changin’!” That’s okay. Just don’t plan on sitting back on your laurels and getting too comfortable. You know there are changes like this all the time. Learn them and flow with them.
But what if my favorite topic is over-saturated?
Want a piece of good news? You have a different personality than everyone else. In light of that, market saturation is not a thing. Think no one else is blogging about Mindset, Motivation, Marketing and Making Money? Of course they are! I didn’t let that stop me. I have a completely different personality/style than they do and it resonates with my tribe. That’s why you keep coming back and enjoy reading the content I create. The same will hold true for the tribe you create.
Also, you must be an extremely tenacious person. Or, at least be able to reach deep down inside of yourself and find that tenacity that you’re going to need to keep this thing going until the search engine community starts to find it and you begin to get it off the ground.
If you are writing a Blog, 30 blog posts is only merely the very beginning. 200 blog posts of good, high-quality content is where you will start to see some good success.
The same holds true if you chose to do YouTube videos rather than blog posts. 30 YouTube videos that contain good, high-quality content is merely a beginning. 200 YouTube videos of good, high-quality content will begin to show you the results you’re after.
Whichever you choose, I can assure you it will feel like you have done an absolute ton of work when you hit 30. And you have. But, you haven’t done enough. Keep going. Don’t slow down. The faster you hit that 200 mark, the faster you make progress.
It has been said that the Google algorithms seem to give more Google Love to the blogs and YouTube channels that post frequently. Frequently can be translated into daily or at least every-other-day for at least your first 30 pieces of content. At the end of the day, hitting that publish button is the one thing that is going to continue to propel your Rock It launch. Good content is your fuel. The faster and harder you pour on the fuel, the quicker you will find your success.
That being said, also know that there are a lot of Internet influencers out there who are just like you and me and are making personal fortunes from sharing the love of their topic with others who have an interest in learning more about it. This is totally the American dream and it’s available to each and every one of us. The only thing that can stop you from great success, is you.
Right now, I am laying down, talking into my cell phone and recording this content. I am speaking directly from my heart and teaching you things that I have learned thus far. It truly is that simple. However, don’t confuse simple with easy. It’s definitely not easy. There is a LOT of work involved. But the payoff is absolutely awesome. Not only do you stand the chance to make your own personal fortune, you also get to help others while doing so. And, you can create your content from anywhere in the world there is an internet connection. And, once you have become successful, you make your own schedule. You’re totally in the driver’s seat at that point. You decide how fast and often you want to create additional content.
