What Are My Options? 3 Different Ways To Build Your Business.
When I first came across the wonderful world of affiliate marketing, it was a Youtube video I had accidentally found while searching for something entirely different. (Funny how fate hits us sometimes, isn’t it?) As I was watching that first video, I was thinking to myself, “This is a really cool concept but there is no freaking way I am interested in making videos of myself and uploading them to Youtube for the whole world to see!”
Today, I have changed my attitude on that topic. Someday, I will begin adding videos to my Youtube channel. But, that’s a topic for another time.
So, you are asking, “What are my three different options?” They are:
|1.||Creating a Youtube channel and uploading the videos you create|
|2.||Creating a WordPress website (blog) and publishing the blog posts you create|
|3.||Creating a podcast channel and producing the podcasts you create|
There is probably one out of those three that piques your interest more than the others. That is the one you should begin with.
I have always enjoyed writing and I’ve been doing it for over thirty years so blogging made the most sense for me to begin with.
Almost everyone in the world is reachable in some form or fashion via the Internet. Think about that for a second. Talk about a game-changer. The Digital Age has changed everything.
If you have read some of my other blog posts, you probably know Google and Youtube are the two largest search engines in the world. And, Youtube is now owned by Google. That in and of itself is absolutely huge. When you take podcasts into account, it gets even bigger.
There are over 3 billion Google searches on a daily basis. It doesn’t take someone skilled in rocket surgery to understand that is a ton of inquiries.
30 million people use Youtube every single day. Granted Google searches are 100 times greater but 30,000,000 is nothing to sneeze at!
Did you know that almost a quarter of Americans listen to podcasts weekly? That’s approximately 83 million people. Podcasts statistics are really exciting. Check this out.
Although there is some overlap between the consumers of the three, there is a large portion of each audience that only consumes content from their preferred content outlet. Because of this, eventually establishing a footprint in all three makes all the sense in the world. That being said, I highly recommend you focus on your chosen outlet until that income greatly surpasses your current J-O-B (Just Over Broke) income.
Any one of the three media outlets gives you the ability to increase your income exponentially from where it is currently at but master your chosen one before you try to expand.
When The Time Comes
When the time does come to expand to the other platforms, I have some exciting news for you. That high-quality, awesome content you created on your chosen platform can be fairly easily transitioned over to the other two platforms that weren’t first on your list. Afterall, there isn’t any sense in reinventing the wheel, right?
As Management Expert, Dr. Peter F. Drucker once said, “There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.” Said another way, use that awesome content you already created on the other platforms to reach more of those people who would absolutely love to learn what you know.
For instance, if Youtube is your first chosen platform, you can easily transfer the audio into a podcast and then also transcribe it into a blog post as well.
If your first chosen platform is a blog, you will be able to easily transfer that content to Youtube and a podcast format at a later date.
The point is, that awesome content can eventually be used on all three platforms eventually. Pretty exciting concept, yes?
There are plenty of people who can easily help you accomplish these tasks quite quickly. You can find them on Fiverr or Upwork either one. My experience is Fiverr is much less expensive but Upwork usually brings much better quality. Like anything else, there are always exceptions to the rule but for the most part, I prefer to use Upwork over Fiverr.
But Wait There’s More
As with just about anything else, the Time vs. Money equation comes into play here too. It could take you a year, two years or even more than that to begin successfully reaching the people who are looking for you via one of the above methods.
The three options we have been discussing thus far are the outlets that will enable you to find your fans without throwing down a ton of cash but they can take a really long time to get any type of results. Most people don’t have a huge budget to begin with so those three options are often times the best place to begin. If you do have a large budget to work with, please accept my sincere congratulations!
It is entirely possible to really speed up your progress if you have a large marketing budget. It is also entirely possible to lose a shitload of money if you are not highly skilled in marketing and advertising. This is where things like Legendary Marketer and the Facebook Masters course can really give you a leg up.
If you are going to start out with a paid advertising strategy, it is imperative you have at least one high-ticket product. You will fall flat on your face if you try to pay for marketing while only making a few dollars per sale.
Of course, you still have to create awesome content that really provides a ton of value for your fans to begin with. From there, you can totally turbocharge who sees it. Advertising platforms such as Google Adwords and Facebook Marketing can get millions of eyes on your content right away. That can really speed up the process. Just be aware, it’s not easy and it’s not cheap. Like anything else, there’s a steep learning curve before you can get up on plane.
Now You Know
So, now you know what your options are. What happens from here is totally up to you.
Like I’ve said a million times before, there’s a ton of work involved. If you aren’t willing to put in the time and work an affiliate marketing business requires, you won’t ever attain any success at all. First, you must mentally make a conscious decision to do what you need to do and continue doing it without giving up and then secondly, you need to actually do it.
It’s really simple. Not Easy. Simple. You too can be a rockstar. Make your decision and get out there, make shit happen and don’t quit!
